Module Reflection #5
This module helped me understand how computational thinking and social media tools can be used meaningfully in education. At first I wasn’t entirely sure how platforms like social sites could be educational except when viewing YouTube videos. I really enjoyed watching the overview video and exploring different tools. I can now see how they support creativity and engagement when aligned with learning goals. I also found the collaborative examples of using social media in the classroom interesting especially the Google Jockey. I think that is a great way of creating teamwork in the learning environment. Building the lesson plan was a challenge in the last module, especially since I do not have a teaching background. However, the presentation wasn't too bad. I also found it challenging to integrate computational thinking in a way that felt authentic to the subject of finance. It pushed me creatively, but I’m proud of how it turned out. It also helped me feel more confident in using digital tools to present ideas and instructions clearly. Overall, this module helped me grow as a lesson designer and as someone who is learning how to use technology with intention. I’m starting to see how all these pieces fit together, and I’m excited to keep building on that.
